COVID-19 Free B&B

We have implemented the "SAFE STAY" guidelines published on April 27th by the American Hotel and Lodging Association to protect guests and staff from the COVID-19 virus. We have removed bed comforters, pillow shams and decorative pillows to provide a sanitized environment. We are still serving a delicious breakfast with 6-foot separation between couples. The incidence of infected people in Talbot County is the lowest in the State of Maryland.

Our local restaurants are providing take-out food, outdoor dining plus limited indoor dining starting June 12th. Our pool and hot tub are open with bikes available for touring this area or the excursion over to Oxford via the ferry.

COVID-19 Free B&B

In 2022, you must be FULLY vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19 to stay with us.   You can wear a mask, but it is not required.  Your innkeeper and our staff are fully vaccinated, and your risk is low based on the latest CDC reports and this area's positivity rate on testing.  We implemented the "SAFE STAY" guidelines published by the American Hotel and Lodging Association to protect guests and staff from the COVID-19 virus.  We are still serving a delicious 3 course breakfast with 6-foot separation between couples - but some fully vaccinated couples are sitting together.  The incidence of infected people in Talbot County is the lowest in the State of Maryland.  Our housekeeping policy is not to enter the room after it is sanitized.  If you want fresh towels or other housekeeping services, let the innkeeper know!

Our local restaurants are serving indoors and outdoors.  Our pool and hot tub are open (late May through September) with bikes available for touring this area or the excursion over to Oxford via the ferry.

Two Blocks from the Water

The George Brooks House is a comfortable bed and breakfast in St. Michaels, Maryland on 8 acres just 1/2 mile outside of town.  The setting is pastoral - deer grazing and much quieter than inns in town.  We have 8 speed bikes to explore the town or this area, including the eight-mile run to the ferry landing at Bellevue.  The Oxford/Bellevue ferry departs about every 20 minutes for the one mile crossing of the Tred Avon River to the beautiful and historic village of Oxford - home to the circa 1710 Robert Morris Inn (oldest colonial tavern still serving food and beverages) and the outstanding Scottish  Highland Creamery with top rated ice cream on the Eastern Shore.

In the last 50 years, St. Michaels has become a
major destination for boaters and travelers in the Mid-Atlantic area, thanks to St. Michaels' many fine retail shops, marinas and restaurants. Because we're on the outskirts of town, you can relax in a peaceful setting while also being able to explore all that St. Michaels has to offer.

Reviews

"With the pandemic at its peak we felt very safe as all social distancing guidelines were followed; masks were worn the entire time from all staff and never once did we feel unsafe, there were bottles of hand sanitizer all around the inn as well as markings to practice social distancing.

The breakfast was AMAZING! I highly recommend staying if your ever visiting my favorite little town St. Michaels, Maryland!"

"We chose this Inn because we like to travel with our large dog and we find that innkeepers who welcome dogs are few and far between. Not so here! There's one designated room here for pets.

The pool was a lovely place to relax after a day spent out and about. Breakfasts were delicious, and we felt very safe with all the COVID precautions put into place. All in all, a very lovely stay and we hope to come back!"

"We had a spectacular time staying at the George Brooks House in July. Keeper was helpful, pleasant and very personable. It rained our entire stay and we still enjoyed every minute.

The grounds are beautiful, well kept and it's located close to town. Bikes are also available for easy access to town.  Our room was spotless and the bed was so comfortable."

Our Other Inn

We also own the Parsonage Inn (circa 1883) at the northwest end of the National Historic District. A stunning brick Victorian with beautiful chimneys, steeple and various brick inlays with Eastlake style trim on the porches. Henry Clay Dodson owned the St. Michaels brick yard at the end of North Street (c: 1877) and this house was the "showplace" for exquisite brick detailing.

This inn provides eight guest bedrooms with private bathrooms along with a parlor, dining room plus porches and upstairs deck. Our "sister B&B Inn" is about 1/2 mile from the George Brooks House B&B. So if you want to be "in town", click on LEARN MORE below to go to the Parsonage Inn web site. Same ownership, great innkeeper and gourmet breakfasts.
